Why doesn't UT Austin's automatic transfer admission apply to University students? Since I graduated in the top 7% of my class, will that still give me a high enough chance of transferring?

When you are in high school, being in the top 7% of your middle school class means close to nothing. When you are in college, 7% in high school is less significant. Though they look at HS, your grades in college are far more important

Yes, but students at Texas Community/Junior colleges qualify for automatic transfer admission to UT Austin if they graduate in the top 10% of their HS class and complete common core. It doesn’t make sense that university students don’t have a chance for automatic transfer if they’re subject to stricter admission standards (besides CAP if you’re at a UT System school). And Top 7% is currently the automatic admission qualification for HS Seniors.
