University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions

i’m in the same boat!

@ihaveaheadache , I can’t say for sure when exactly she applied. It opened July 1, and she applied by the end of July however she had to wait until school started (her senior year) to get letters of recommendations and her transcripts sent. I would think everything was in by mid-August or so.

She was auto admit and I believe they announced everyone who applied by that time who was auto admit in mid October. I have the picture of her holding her letter and welcome banner dated Oct 17. (I know I posted earlier but she did not receive acceptance into her major until Feb 1). If it’s anything like last year, acceptances could come any day now!

@TXRunningMom, and I see a few other familiar names also , nice to see you all on this thread as well as A&M! My son was accepted to Engineering there and is still filling out his application to UT.

@Mojo1995 thanks for the info! i finished applying mid September, and even though i’m auto admit I’m still very anxious to get the news haha! thanks again!

Figured you all could use a little levity during this stressful season… DS ran into my room in a panic over the weekend. Discovered he uploaded resume with University of Texas heading to A&M. UT is my alma mater so I had a good chuckle over it (I laughed my a$$ off) and told him it’s a good lesson. Guessing A&M won’t look too favorably on that.

I applied first week of August and after seeing all responses here went and checked now. My status has also changed to “in review”. I am Auto admit and anxiously waiting!

Has anyone heard anything? I wonder how long we’re going to be in the “your application for admission is in review” stage. According to what I’ve seen on these boards for last year, people were notified what would have been last week. My kiddo has already been accepted to the other schools she applied to, so she’s getting antsy. :-/

No changes here :frowning:

OK so I’m in the top 7.4 percent of my class with an 1140 sat score. Do you think I have a good chance of being offered the pace program?

No change:/ I’m an auto admit that applied in mid september

still in “in review”

Yes, it’s frustrating. Would have expected to hear something by now for auto admits. It’s probably a more competitive year than last year if history is to be repeated. Every year there’s more and more qualified applicants. Good luck!

We’ve been to two presentations; one on campus and one here (OOS). Both admissions reps were holding firm to the Feb 1 notification date and neither qualified that for in-state or auto-admits. I thought they were maybe just hedging but my son asked the OOS rep what the process was now that he’s “in review”. She said he’d be waiting until Feb 1. Now, he’s not in-state and therefore not auto admit but based on the “delay” compared to last year, maybe they are moving away from notifying admission early and then confirming majors in Feb. I know none of this information feels definitive but thought I’d share what we’ve heard. Maybe all you auto-admits will be surprised with good info in the coming weeks but we are putting all this on the emotional back burner for now. As a reference, we know OOS that heard as early as October last year too.

I am currently a freshman at UT. If you guys have any questions id be glad to help

Applytexas won’t let my son hit submit without completing the fourth short answer prompt on diversity. The website only shows three prompts. Did anyone run into this ?

I’m pretty sure that prompt was dropped by UT. You should contact a IT regional admissions office to see if they can assist your son.

Your son can also just type n/a in the box and it should let you continue.

I now recall that UT sent an email instructing applicants to do exactly what @yoda13 states above - type N/A in the box and submit it.

application status still says “in review” ughhh. last year’s thread showed they received answers as early as october 11th :((

Y’all, if UT monitored how many times I’ve checked my daughter’s log in page over these last few days, they would probably delete her application on the spot! lol I guess I can quit checking it for the weekend now. sigh
