University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions

Anyone get accepted to Moody OOS yet?

D is CNS Biochemistry applicant, OOS, 1560 SAT, 4.0UW/4.51W GPA, and application is still in review. Does anyone know if not being part of the waves so far means anything positive or negative? Thanks.

@chemishUT Congrats, and thanks for sharing your stats. Hope we hear good news soon. Stats seem similar. Fingers crossed.

@Cogitare Congratulations! Still waiting for a decision here. Applied CNS Biochem, OOS, and have stats somewhat similar to yours: 1560 SAT, 4.0UW/4.5W. Applied for admission in October, and applied for Dean’s Scholar end of November. Portal: application is still in review. Any insights? Would love to hear them!

is it a requirement to live on campus freshman year?

@ihaveaheadache I talked with someone from Housing when I toured UT back in November (in fact, he may have been the Housing Director, although I don’t rightly remember). Anyway, he told me that it is not a requirement to live on campus freshman year, although it is strongly recommended.

@collegemom111111 id b shocked if ur child didnt get in! ive read soooo many times to not get nervous if u dont hear before feb/mar. hang in there!!

@Walkerrowe15 nope, still waiting, OOS Moody

apparently, Moody was the last to release last year .

when does the school of education release?

People OOS have been admitted already to Moody, two from my town have. My son still waiting. I think there are many more acceptances to come(hopefully)

I got into my major on 1/10! Cockrell School, Biomedical Engineering. (I’m In-state auto-admit top 3% of my class btw)

@collegemom111111 I’m OOS, 35 ACT, same exact GPA, CNS neuroscience and i actually got in this week even though I didn’t apply til Nov 30. my friend applied months before me with similar stats and app is still pending. all the apps must have gotten mixed up but if she has similar stats im sure she will get in, good luck!

Have there been any acceptances for OOS engineering? My son’s HS has about 6 applicants and all still waiting. My son applied Oct 11, I think a bit of a reach as its tough if your OOS. ACT 33 C, 35M, 34S,32R,30E 3.87/4.0 UW, 4.07/4.0 W Lots of Ap’s, Multiple Varsity sports, Captain as well. All state in Music. Hopefully he finds out either way soon.

I’m an in state applicant applying to COLA, 1450 on SAT, strong extracurriculars, and tons of APs. I was wondering if there have been a lot of acceptances to COLA and if I have a chance? Most of the acceptances I have seen are for engineering, CNS, and Business so I’m wondering if they have sent out many liberal arts letters. Does anyone know?

A follow up question: how hard is it to be accepted into COLA: more specifically the psychology major?

@UThopeful222 I got accepted into COLA as an OOS applicant last week with a 1280 SAT. Not sure how hard it is to get accepted but hopefully this makes you feel better about your chances

Do you mind sharing your stats?? @journalist99

@pleasehelpme15 Of course!

OOS California
SAT: 1280
UW GPA: 3.85
W GPA: 4.61
Full IB candidate
School doesn’t rank…

Lots of volunteer work with Red Cross for all four years as well as my community’s Resource Center for Nonviolence. I guess my essays must’ve gotten me in since I’m not exceptional on paper. I did pour my heart out for UT since I didn’t think I had much of a chance, so I’m so surprised and excited that I got in!

I wish you the best!
