For those of you who are interested, the official twitter account for undergraduate admission is UT Austin Admissions with the handle @BeaLonghorn
@UTDad1995Grad, I feel your pain. Logging onto my child’s portals is seriously eroding my productivity. Hopefully, there will be some movement from UT sometime this month since today is the end of the priority admission deadline.
@fatherof2boys , I don’t have Twitter so would you tweet us on college confidential if you see anything exciting?!!
I’m by no means a social media expert, but it looks like the official twitter account Texas 2023 @utaustin2023 posted a congratulations message this morning
@romns116 Yes. It looks like the account was created a few years ago but it sent its first tweet today. It’s coming soon!
A few years ago when my eldest son got his acceptance it occurred during the evening hours, so don’t get to worked up if you don’t hear anything during regular work hours. The UT portal may not update until the evening.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone post anything yet about On Campus Housing, so for those who plan/want to live on campus their first year, you really should sign up for Housing and spend the $50 non refundable Housing application fee ASAP. As soon as your College Application is submitted, you can go and submit your Housing Application. Housing is determined by Housing Application Submittal Date. You can’t choose anything now, but priority is set by when you submit your Housing application. Since most applicants won’t get their college acceptance until Jan/Feb 2019, that may be too late to submit your housing application to get on campus housing, or certainly your top choice of Dorms/rooms etc.
On the ‘My Status’ page, I had never previously clicked on the “home icon” in the upper right hand corner (until today after the messages here). Have the options: My Bookmarks, My Classes, My 40 Acres, always been present on upper right corner?
@ccrmsm , I had never clicked on that Home icon! I can’t believe I missed that. My daughter’s has the same stuff you have showing.
Yes, everyone should apply for housing if you haven’t done so already. Unlike A&M, you can apply for housing at UT before the applicant has been admitted. Multiple studies have shown that kids who stay on campus their first year do better both academically and socially.
UT has a shortage of available spaces and you don’t want to be like I was having to room at that dump on Guadalupe across from the Ransom Center. Hopefully they improved it since I was an undergrad in the 90s. That place made my wife’s Jester dorm room seem like the Taj Mahal.
@ccrmsm, I believe those tabs have always been present on my son’s application.
Thanks @TXRunningMom @fatherof2boys for confirming!
I thought was under the impression that applicants who submit by the Nov. 1 deadline will be notified on Feb. 1. I didn’t realize some hear before Feb. 1.
Updated to show my daughter has been admitted :).
Congrats to your daughter! Do you live in Texas? Are out of state applicants also hearing this early?
Auto admit decisions are out! “Congratulations! You have been automatically admitted to the University of Texas at Austin.” Under that is says, “Your application is still being considered for admission to your requested major.” Now we wait for decisions again. LOL!!
got in!!
We have a green light for admission too!
I started a new discussion for us out of staters titled: New Discussion
University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions- Out of State. Catchy, right? I thought it would be easier to track admission waves. Congratulations to all you auto-admits! Jealous of all of you and in-staters who have a clearer path to UT.
does all top 6% should get auto admission now?
I got acceptance today too!! Auto admit
