University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions

DS denied P2 last night. Still waiting for Moody Honors.

Good luck to everyone waiting for admission and/or honors decisions!

Does anyone know how many applicants get offered PACE? I thought I saw somewhere that it was 100 (which seemed kind of low but maybe not). Just wondering how much of a reach PACE is.

I have also heard 100 but now can’t remember where.

I have a 3.7 GPA UW, 1440 SAT, and 31 ACT. I have tons of AP’s and Honors Classes as well. I am heavily involved with extra circulars(speech and debate), most notably FIRST Robotics. Through robotics, I have received many awards for Women in STEM/computing. I have a great leadership profile in robotics as well.I have been to the United Nations in New York to advocate for more women in science as well! I am a MN resident too What would be my chances for getting a call?

I have applied for business and computer science.

@PamKrojse, I think if you could read through the last 2 months of this thread, you would see there’s no definitive answer to your question or to the host of others asking it as well. Near perfect stat applicants did not get accepted to UT Austin, while other great students but not stellar stats, did. Right now it feels like everyone is a flip of the coin. Business and CS is highly competitive. And I mean HIGHLY competitive. A lesson to all those that are not auto admit to UT Austin in the future, make sure you apply to very good back up schools, just in case.

@Hainsj, @Meadow530
here is where you saw it most likely: https://sites.utexas.edu/admissions-news/2019/01/update-about-fall-2019-admission-decisions/

Are the decisions coming out today for Priority applicants only or will there be some regular decisions as well?

Has anyone been through the CAP process and have any idea what to do other than we show up online at 6:00 on 2/8 to try to get in?

@mrlooki
Yeah, that was it. Thanks.

are decisions definitely coming out today

or starting to come out today

If the letter said they gave 80% of their acceptance announcements, and mine still says that my thing is in review, is that good or bad?

@locomoco223 mine still says in review as well

i’m assuming it will continue to say that until our decisions are available

today or tmw??? what should I expect

when did this wave start last year?? 1/31 or 2/1??

@mea2023 @dogbone7 I’m fairly sure it started on the 31st last year looking at the forum for last year.

@PamKrojse, you have really strong academic stats and so you are obviously academically prepared for the rigors of college, that will be self-evident to any college. AT UT-Austin, your two desired majors are uber-competitive as @TXDad56 notes. Accordingly, you’ll find that most of the other qualified applicants to those same majors have very competitive stats as well. Thus, the distinguishing factor between been admitted or not often comes down to the other portions of an applicant’s file. In this regard, UT places a very strong emphasis on fit for major and my one concern about your application is that business and computer science are two distinctly different majors/careers. Its much easier to demonstrate fit for both first and second choice majors when they share something in common, for example business and economics, or civil engineering and mechanical engineering. Your short description of your ECs tend to indicate that you might be, on a relative basis of your personal achievement index score, a more competitive CS applicant than a business applicant at UT because your activities are predominately related to STEM. In any event, I wish you the best of luck.

if 80% seats filled up already for EA timelines, what will happen for RD candidates? No hopes - just reassigning from whoever not joining.

what time do decisions get released
