So there is often no rhyme or reason from year to year, but UT pushes decisions out in waves, with the majority not actually happening until the end of January.
Between UT and TAMU, I’m about to lose it!!! The waiting is killing me ! My son was academic admit to TAMU but because he isn’t top 6%, he is holistic for UT. We are waiting for Engineering Review at TAMU and any news from UT.
I am an auto admit to UT(top 2% of class), and my first choice is mccombs for business. I applied on august 20 and have heard nothing, however I have gotten at BHP interview. I hate waiting. Now get to wait until January to hear for major.

My son’s application status was updated at 7:35pm. 12/13/2019. Accepted into Mccombs. SAT 1510 ACT 34 Rank 3/551 GPA Weighted 4.7075 Unweighted 4.0 PSAT 1470 Commended, He is instate and was auto admitted. Has been interviewed for BHP awaiting decision. Best wishes & Merry Xmas to y’all.

Wonder if it was a wave or a wavelet? Looks more like a ripple than a wave. Maybe in some parts of TX it could have been a wave who knows.

I’ll get off this site bc I am getting gray hair waiting for UT, and I may have to take some calming pills soon. ?. I’ll be like my son and just be… He’s so worry free. Even when he only applied to only two schools.

@EraseEgo What I have read through last year’s forum, it is just a ripple through December. Unfortunately, January is when the larger waves come through.
I got accepted today under a holistic review around 7 PM cst. I’m an Austin area resident and in the top 7.7% of my class. My intended major is international relations and global studies in the college of liberal arts.

I’m wondering if you received your notifications at the same time (meaning there’s no point in my asking D20 to look) or if they trickled throughout the day. Could you let us know when you received notification and your time zone (thanks, @sdalal, you did have that info).
Their notification came via email at 7:02 and 7:03 p.m. However, both had already checked their mystatus page around 5:20 and saw the acceptance. (CST)
