University of Texas at Austin Nursing 2023

Has anyone been accepted or rejected into nursing yet? I’m interested to know if any auto admits were already accepted as I am OOS and will not likely hear back until Feb.

My daughter is auto admit but has heard nothing from her major-nursing or her 2nd choice, Plan II. This process is so frustrating. My older two sons who were not auto admit found out the last possible day of releases. The National Merit kid was accepted, the other was not. The oldest decided to attend Rice since he was so annoyed by UT’s entire process. I know at least one acceptance to nursing has gone out because UT Nursing tweeted it.

Does UT Austin consider senior first semester grades?

do you think they would consider second choice majors since nursing is so competitive? also have y’all heard anything yet? I wonder when they’ll release nursing…

My daughter was an automatic admit as well and still checking the mailbox everyday.

Not at all like my son who completed his application earlier in the year back in 2008 and was automatic admit to engineering right away.

Daughter got into nursing tonight!!

can you give her stats

my status is still in review & am priority… do you think all the seats are full now?

Sure!
in state, auto admit, priority
33 ACT
4.45 gpa
salutatorian
Shadowing at Baylor, Scott, & White summer program
100s of volunteer hours
Summer camp counselor throughout high school
doubled up on AP science classes in HS so she could take all the ones offered

I doubt all the seats are full now. Acceptances have been coming out in small handfuls since October. They said they extend about 200 offers a year. I don’t think their releases have any rhyme or reason, hang in there!

Not sure if you already heard back, but I received admissions to the “guaranteed nursing program” which allows you to transfer into nursing you sophomore year and you are guaranteed admission as long as you maintain a few requirements.
My college counselor said most times the UT nursing spots can fill up quickly with because of such a high demand from qualified in state students which is why they introduced the guaranteed nursing program to allow other students the oppurtunity to pursue nursing at UT.
I have a 4.3 GPA, 34 ACT, over 500 service hours, and have taken a total of 7 AP courses.
I applied priority but then was told something had been messed up with my application and I was now considered regular decision. Then I ended up finding out in the last week of January.
I have a friend who was accepted to the nursing program for her freshman year from in state (but not through auto admit) and found out after I did.
Basically my point is that I don’t think the acceptance timing has anything to do with statistic, maybe just relating to the pace at which the specific admissions counselor assigned to your region is working. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Anyone waiting to see if they got accepted as a transfer student into the nursing program??
