Hi,
I’m a current sophomore at Colgate University and am trying to transfer to the Communications College at the University of Texas at Austin for next fall. I just want to get a general idea of the chances I have of getting in because I’ve heard answers all across the board from different people. I have good extracurriculars/internships, a good resume that also included a link to my online art portfolio, two great rec letters, challenging coursework good essays, and an upward grade trend. Even though I go to school out of state, I’m still a Texas resident and am from Texas. My GPA, however, is a 3.2, the only thing that makes me worried since the dean said that they generally look for around a 3.5. Also, I want to be an advertising major and haven’t taken any classes in that field since my school is very traditional liberal arts. I still do have a lot of credits that could transfer to the communications school requisites. Are my chances good?
Hi!! I’m just wondering, did you ever get a decision from UT yet?? I’m actually in the same boat as you, my overall GPA will be somewhere around 3.2-3.46 with 31 credit hours. Also what major did you apply to?? I applied to the College of Education.
Thanks!!
@aw1997 NoI haven’t heard yet, and I don’t expect to for a while- it seems like most people hear in mid May. What school are you coming from, if you don’t mind me asking? I applied to Advertising as my first choice and COLA English as a second choice.
I’m coming from a community college, and o, I hope we both get in!!((:
