University of Texas--Austin Admissions

My school also doesn’t officially rank which they say can be helpful in the admission process.

@michaelite‌ sorry I don’t know much about UT for internationals as I am in state
@bonnie97‌ I would say you have a solid chance but then again what do I know
@Mayosauce‌ I know what you mean haha I check Twitter daily for updates

@bonnie97‌ yes i have a friend who got in during the first wave. i am not sure how competitive college of education is, but in general the ACT might be too low, GPA is great! so I say you have about a 70% chance based on what I know about UT Austin in general.

@michaelite‌ I’d say your in, but I don’t know when they will release admissions. Everyone is anxious and wants to know. We will have to play the waiting game

@Machovich‌ Like I said before, its possibly going to be Feb.15 onwards before they release their next BIG wave like they did in December. That is what the admissions office said. They said they will release a few admission decisions here and there before that date to make sure the system runs smoothly.

@vs1997‌ yeah that’s what I figured, the waiting will not be fun haha

My prediction based on last year’s results - the big, and final wave will come out on Friday, Feb. 20th. I expect to hear about a smaller wave between now and then, but I think that will be your final date. The end of the waiting game. Good luck!

@lots2do‌ thanks!

@nosyla My son has been offered admission to Purdue and Auburn for engineering. He is also admitted with very good scholarships to Alabama and LSU. While LSU does not have aero eng, it’s in-state for us so we had him apply anyway.

@chilliums‌ I hope we hear something back this week! I got into PE in A&M this morning and I really want to make my decision already!

@magathar‌ Yeah man, this has been a long wait. I happened to get my PE acceptance from A&M around mid-December, so at least that one came out early. Have you heard anyone say anything about decisions coming out this week?

@chilliums‌ that’s great! I actually haven’t heard or seen anything about that.

@magathar‌ @chilliums‌ I also applied to A&M and UT for petroleum engineering. However I am an international student with 1910 SAT. Were you guys auto admits for A&M? What were your SAT scores if so?

I was placed in “engineering review” in A&M; read today in another forum that today a final wave of 350 acceptances was sent, and apparently I was not part of it. Also, still in review for UT. Really heartbreaking for me since these were my top choices.

@purplexgoldxalum my son was accepted into Purdue as well. Perhaps they will meet up at one of these schools one day. Good luck to your son!

I noticed today that on the UT Austin dashboard, the financial aid option has been added. When you click on it, it says “Decisions about financial aid will be made after you have been officially admitted and your financial aid application has been processed.” That was never there before. Perhaps something is coming soon! He applied on Nov. 1st.

@MMVenezuela‌ Yes, I am an auto-admit in-state student, just waiting for that UT “in review” notification to go away haha. My SAT score is a 2180. Hopefully we all get our acceptances to UT PE soon!

got into aero engn. at a&m thru engn. review process. still anxiously waiting on ut.

@MMVenezuela‌ I’m non auto OOS. My SAT was 1930.

@MMVenezuela‌ Im non auto in state. SAT was 2090 (1450 CR+M) and 790 Math level 2 subject test. 4.4 gpa

I got on here today to see if anyone had heard of an expected release date, but saw that some people had gotten in. Went online to check and saw that I had gotten in. Didn’t even get an email or notification hahah so if I were you, I’d recommend that you go and check.

PS I’m OOS

@thedogsunny Is that for UT or TAMU? There’s been discussion of both on this thread…

@TheDogSunny you got into UT? Today? Congratulations! What were your stats? Please post them. What school did you apply to/major?
