I am an out of state applicant

It would be a reach for you from OOS.

The University of Texas at Austin’s acronym is UT or UT Austin.

McCombs is difficult for OOS students without crazy high class ranks and near perfect test scores.

@billcsho Which school would be a reach? UGS or Mccombs?

See the title of this thread.

@billcsho what makes you think that it would be a reach school?

Most of the seats at UT Austin are filled by in state automatic admission already. For the remaining seats, they are highly competitive particularly for OOS students. Only 7% students are from OOS with an admission rate of 27%. Your score is just slightly above admission average from OOS but with a weak GPA and a class rank below the top10%. Your chance would be lower than the 27% admission rate.
