University of Texas chances

I'm a junior going into my senior year of high school. I am from Arizona, and i am interested in going to University of Texas Austin for mechanical engineering. I'm just wondering what my chances of making it are, and if i have a chance at getting good scholarships.

I don’t know that much about UT out of state admissions, as it’s just really easy for us in-state kids to get in, but your stats seem more than high enough for admission to the University, and I don’t see any reason that you couldn’t get in at Cockrell for engineering.

You have a 0% chance at getting any good scholarships that aren’t need based aid. They don’t even give the in state kids anything that great. After financial aid, UT will be the most expensive school I’m applying to, and I’m applying to 2 OOS public schools.

Good luck with your college search and admissions process.

@Legobuddy - You have a great chance getting admitted to UT. All your criteria is great.

@energia - It is NOT really easy for in-state kids to get admitted to UT. If you are not an auto admit, the top 7% next year, then it is difficult. UT admission is less than 48%.

UT Austin seems like a great match since you scored so well on your SAT and maintained a strong gpa. However, scholarship money seems unlikely because Austin rarely gives any.

Mind chancing back?
