i got into the 3+3 prepharm at uop
and im undeclared/ undeclared at ucsd

my parents reallly, REALLY want me to go to uop, but i honestly dont know anything (social-scene-wise) about this place. i do study and im all for it, but i need to have some sort of fun in college. ive been looking around and i cant really seem to find too much information on the social scene of this college. so can anyone tell me how big of a party school this is? i would probably kill myself if i didnt go out at least once a week. and the neighborhood is apparently super sketchy. are there lots of bars/ clubs/ etc.?

and as for ucsd, if i were to go there, i would probably be headed for the pharmacy direction, but the thing i like about ucsd is that i have the choice to switch to a different major whereas at uop im stuck with pharm for 6 years. and as of now, i honestly dont know what i want to do. but ucsd is super impacted and what not.. also if i were to graduate from ucsd and get into the pharm school at ucsd, which has a better reputation in the pharmacy world? because theres no point for me to graduate two years faster and not get a job because a ucsd graduate was chosen instead of me for the college he or she graduated from.

so yeah hows the social/party scene at uop?
and which school is more reputable for pharm?

I actually live in Lodi, which is about 20 or so minutes north of Stockton. UOP’s campus is great. It’s actually quite attractive, but the only problem is that it’s in Stockton… To tell you the truth, Stockton doesn’t have much to offer in terms of a social scene, but I’m sure there’s stuff to do on campus, not to mention SF is only a couple hours, and its only a few hours to the mountains as well. If you really want to go into pharmacy, then this is the school for you, and the program you got into is really good. I know a few kids who actually are going there for that program. I’m actually looking at colleges right now myself, and am debating between NYU, UCSD, and UCLA…but never would think to go to UOP. Maybe that’s just me being biased because I’ve grown up in the area though. I’d definitely suggest that you go visit the school though.

The campus is really, really nice. I highly recommend a visit - there’s preview day on 4/10, which is one of the biggest events of the year to give you a sense of the campus.
