University of the Pacific , Stockton CA

I wonder if anyone hear any admission status from the University of the Pacific?

I haven’t gotten mine either, but then again I actually got deferred from there. They sent me an email when they notified me of my defferal saying I would get the final admission decision “no later than April 1st,” so I’m assuming they’re waiting until that day to get them out.

@borflis… when did you get deferred? you applied EA?
My D got a call in the middle of February from UoP. It is said the decision will come out from the mid feb to mid march. But no news yet.

2015, apparently you were scrapped aka dropped from admissions review. They are doing a stall tactic called default dismissal which means they will wait to find an excuse to drop your admissions, like if you signed up for pre-health majors then they will fill up those spots and then reply and tell you that they are sorry but you were one of the “few” to get denied. I was accepted 2 months ago a long with other people I hope you do not get your hopes up in search for going to this school because your chances are very SLIM.

^^

Whiteforce, you don’t know anything of the kind.

2015parent, I might wait until Tuesday, when we will be well and truly past “mid-March.” At that point, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to call and just say, “We were told mid-March. Do you have any idea when we might hear?”

was this a deferral letter? because i don’t think so. i checked their webpage and it said that there were a high volume of applications so they would notify us no later than april 1st. here is the letter i got:

"Thank you for your application to University of the Pacific. We are continuing to review credentials for your application to the Pre-Pharmacy program. Thank you for your patience.

You will be notified of the admission committee’s decision no later than April 1, 2011. Best wishes for a successful semester, and we look forward to a final review of your credentials."
What is that supposed to mean?

i’m just gonna bump this thread…

^^

It means exactly what it says. They have not made a decision yet. They will let you know when they do, no later than April 1.

Waiting is tough, and you all are having to learn about patience. Trying to read hidden meanings into every little thing doesn’t have much predictive value, and only makes the time crawl by more slowly. Get on with your daily lives, and trust that when there is a firm decision, one way or the other, they will let you know promptly.

thank you so much for the positivity LasMa!
i always find myself over analyzing everything.
i appreciate your insightful comment! :)

Not insight – experience. I remember my daughter doing exactly the same thing 2 years ago. She learned it from me, the overanalyzing. :p

She got into her #1 choice BTW. So hang in there!

thanks again for the encouraging words! :D

Lol, I was admitted 4-5 weeks ago, I am amazed that “LasMa” is still “encouraging” you, due to the fact that they only admit 200-300 AT MOST, for their pre-health majors in total. I hope you start looking for alternatives becasue u have less than “11 days left” Lasma has no clue what he is talking about. The application pool is not even that large either, it averages anywhere from 20k-40k applications in one year and they have gone through most of it already.

I called UoP admission office this morning. They told me the decision will be up on 4/1.

yes, some of my friends just got a mail today and were notified of their acceptance. apparently its rolling admissions until april 1st. just because you’re notified at the end doesnt mean you’re not accepted. they are sending out acceptances in batches, just like the ucs. decision will be up where? on their website?

Did anyone who didnt apply for a special program get accepted/denied/waitlisted yet?

Bump. I’m also a UOP predent hopeful who hasn’t gotten an admissions letter yet.

It’s April first and I still haven’t gotten anything. Wouldn’t it was fool hardy and sad if some of us got rejected on April’s fool? What a day to pick for sending out letters.

Same here. I didn’t get anything yet. Does UOP notify by mail or e-mail? I’m still hoping that they accept me, not waitlist or reject me.

I’ve checked my e-mail and the school’s admission decision page, and mine still says it’s being reviewed, even though it’s April 2. I called them earlier this morning and they told me decisions are coming out this week. So long as a final decision hasn’t been made yet, we all still have a chance, right? :)

i just got the email today… i got waitlisted. Does anyone know how many people they accept on waitlist?
btw I applied for the dentistry program
