On the Student Profile Form, it asks for a self reported grade. I still have to send my transcripts in, so they'll see the official grade on my transcripts/mid year report.

However, the grade I'm supposed to report is out of 100, while my mid year report only gives letter grades. What should I report for classes that I'm currently taking, like Pre-Calculus and Physics?

@kevycanuck

You should report all classes that you are currently taking to give the admissions team a better view of the subs you’re doing-- might take some credits off uni load as well. It is best to give them the grade over 100, for letter grades you have to provide them with a grade conversion table from the high school etc. Thus over 100 would be the most straight forward.

I had the same issue and emailed this was the recommendation by the admissions team. Which program are you applying for? I’m applying for transfer into rotman!

Just my two cents. :)

I’m just not sure what my grade is out of 100, it doesn’t say on my mid-year report. Maybe I can ask my teachers what I got and just average my quarter grades.

On the application, I also have to fill in a grade for “Math.” What course is this? I’ve taken, Algebra 1, Geometry, Alg2/Trig, and am currently taking pre-calc.

There is a pre-calc box which I can enter my mid-year grade in, but what should I fill in for Math?

I’m applying for Engineering. :)

@kevycanuck because i’m not sure what is the prerequiste for engineering. like for commerce its pre calculus, thus under the Math section i would fill in pre-calc. thus you would have to fill up a course that is most similar to the prerequiste that uoft requires to stand a better chance.

yup, you should ask your teachers to give a number. however if it is too time consuming and troublesome, letter grades should work fine for UofT too!

Thanks for the response!

For the Math pre-requisite, I either need to be taking AP Calculus or submit an SAT2 math score. I am currently taking Pre-Calc senior year, and will be submitting an SAT2 score to meet the math requirement. Should I just leave my “Math” section empty, and fill out an SAT2 score?

Also, I don’t think theres a way to submit letter grades, unless I’m missing something. Is there an option to do it?

I don’t quite understand your math pre-requisite question, since I did not apply to the UofT. However, for your grades, I’d suggest asking your teachers for your current percentage. Even if it changes a bit, they’ll understand it was a mid-year mark and liable to fluctuation.
