University of Toronto decision schare class of 2023

@toomanydonuts same here. It could be maintenance on the portal. will check back on Monday but I would not worry about it.

Do any of you guys know why my status is still pending review?

I applied by December 6th and I am an Ontario student. I had a 97/100 average in Grade 11 and a 98/100 average in grade 12. I applied to St. George Humanities. Some people in my school already got their offers and I don’t understand why mine is still pending review.

Thanks @bouders. Do you know if my statistics are competitive for Trinity or U of T in general? I’m really worried about waiting as some schools are offering scholarships and residency advantages for committing earlier. If I don’t have much of a chance (as I am afraid) I would be better off just accepting my second or third choice. It’s just U of T and Trinity is by far and away my first choice (I would ED if I could).

@Vikarious I can’t tell from your GPA whether your stats are competitive. What program did you apply for? What’s your unweighted GPA? Do you have a predicted IB score? Your ACT is fine for any program.

If you’ve received acceptances from US universities that are offering advantages to commit earlier, you can accept one of those and then back out when/if you receive a U of T acceptance.

@Fun123 and anyone else stressing out because you haven’t received a decision. There should be a big wave of decisions around March 14-20.

@Rapmonster no I haven’t :-/

@bouders Unfortunately my school does not do predicted IB scores as the IB program is secondary to the high school diploma. My unweighted and weighted GPA are the same I believe, so around 3.2-3.3 out 4 (this is what worries me). If it helps, my best course is IB Biology HL with my senior year grade at 90+.

I have applied to Human Biology: Neuroscience at the Faculty of Arts and Science in the St. George Campus. I also chose Trinity College as my first choice and believe I have a fairly strong applicant profile at least.

My son was accepted to Faculty of Arts/Science. Exciting! From the US, 105D.

Congrats. My son was also accepted to the university college (a random pick) Arts/Science a few days ago. From US, but a US/Canada dual citizen.

@rockymountain123 Same! Dual citizen. congrats.

thanks, it opened up today! @gre8texp

@Ripples98 Yes. Applied to so many schools and just sent scores to everyone. So I cannot say what specifically Toronto required or what they reviewed before accepting me. They could have ignored all of it. Good luck!!!

Thanks a lot @MrRobot2018

Guys, anyone heard anything for the second wave for Engineering?

My son applied for computer engineering he got this in his portal
‘Your application has been reviewed and being held for review during our next round. You can expect to receive an update by late April’

So we assume the next round for engineering will be end april

I just got in today to Rotman. I’m a 101 applicant. Here’s my stats in case you are wondering:

Top 6 grade 12 avg: 98.5
Top 6 grade 11 avg: 96
AP Functions and Calc: both 99

In the Facebook group for Rotman, they say the early March round is a very small number of offers. Most offers are sent out late March - so don’t worry at all!! I know in previous years, people have gotten in with averages between 86 and 99, depending on their extracurriculars and interview. Good luck and I hope you hear good news!

@Fun123
To answer your question, your friend might have gotten in before you because:

  1. They are applying to a different program than you are. Engineering, for example, sent out their offers earlier than arts and sci
  2. For the first round, they are looking for grades in a certain subject. For example, for Rotman, they might have been looking for a specific grade in Advanced Functions. If your friends has a higher average than you in that one particular course for your major, that may be why. Regardless, if your average is above the cutoff, you will be accepted eventually.
  3. They are looking for certain awards or extra curriculars for this round.

@Fun123

Oh, one more thing: some of the more competitive programs may hold off admitting those who didn’t have English in the first semester because you don’t have a completed English mark for them to look at. Generally speaking, English is arguably the most important subject for Canadian admissions.

My son got an update on his engineering portal stating that he has been offered admission in AEENGBASC-Track One which is basically undeclared engineering. This was five days ago but he has still not received any offer letter ? When does the letter generally come after the update on the portal?

Congrats. My daughter is in that same range & we’re still waiting on a decision (also Eng).
