University of toronto economics program?

Well anyhow Im looking to transfer from my current school (in the US) and I intend to be an economics major. I have been doing some research and have become fairly intrested in the Univeristy of Toronto's economics program (price/ranking/family in toronto). I was wondering if anyone had imformation as to how competitive it is for tranfers students. Any advice would be helpful thanks.

I'm not sure how competitive it will be for an American transfer student, but I was admitted as a Canadian transfer (although I didn't end up going). At the time, my stats were:

Previous school: University of Manitoba (on the lower end of the Maclean's rankings)
College GPA: 4.29/4.5 after 2 years
HS GPA: 97.3%
EC's: ZERO (I'm serious, I had absolutely nothing)
Admitted to: Arts & Science

I think as long as you have a good GPA, you have a shot at getting in(as this is the case for most schools in Canada). I hope this helps.

hmm.. how does utoronto's econ program rank globally?

University of Toronto's ECON program is actually pretty good. A few of the leading Economics researchers are here. Although it's not comparable to ECO at Harvard, Princeton or Stanford, it's still very respectable, many of the faculty members are harvard, princeton and stanford graduates :)
To transfer here is probably not hard, just get a high GPA, nothing else really matters. And if you went to hs in the states, you'll need SATs here too, but the score req is low about 1100 on the old and probably 1800 on the new one.
Economics at UofT is actually very good, because amazingly the ECO classes are much much smaller than regular science and engineering classes(which are 1000ish), ECO classes are about (100 or less) and if you take advanced ECO, you'll probably get a class of around 40 :)
