I am currently ending my Junior year, and I am beginning to apply for colleges. I am interested in psychology, and UoT is one of my top choices, but I am a U.S. student. I was wondering how difficult the psychology program is at UoT and how hard it would be for someone with an average GPA and Average SAT scores to get in. If I shouldnt even bother applying, just let me know, thank you!
What are your “average” GPA and SAT scores? The average SAT score is about 1100 and that would result in a denial.
i got a 1200 on the SATS, and I was wondering what the average GPA was more then anything
U of T doesn’t report averages. They report minimums. A 3.7 GPA should be sufficient, but it’s unlikely a 1200 SAT will be. Their admissions website is down right now, so I can’t double check. The previous minimum was 600 in each section, but I thought I saw a 640 minimum last week. Psychology is under the Life Sciences admission category which tends to be somewhat competitive.
There are high school course requirements too. Calculus is required as well as a senior level science. http://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/academics/progs/psychology
“Successful applicants have presented scores of at least 600 (Reasoning) and 640 (Redesigned) in each SAT component and at least 26 in the ACT with a score of at least 8 in Writing. Some programs require higher scores.”
