Hi everyone,
i got accepted to UofT for comp sci.
I have heard it is nearly impossible to achieve a high gpa and maintain a social life, thus making it impossible to go to a good grad school.
I was wondering if the rumours are true and i will my ass off to barely achieve a C and screw myself over for grad school.
Please comment if you KNOW for sure if the rumours are true are not.
thanks
hello, congratulations on your admission into UofT; I’d like to ask after how many weeks the school will release decision for an applicant? Sorry for not helping, I am also an international student applying to UofT
OP, it’s not impossible. Most people in computer science are not trying for grad school, so you’re not competing against a lot of people for high GPAs. However, the average for first year courses is around a C+ to B/B-. U of T is challenging. They won’t hold your hand. It’s sink or swim. If you have good work and study habits, you can do well. If you don’t , then … Check out the subreddit for U of T. There’s a lot of comp sci majors there.
Spark - for internationals most of the acceptances will come out at the beginning of May.
