University of Toronto

As a high school senior in the U.S il be graduating in May 2016. My question is when do I, an international student, apply to U of T and what are the sat test requirements? Also what is the acceptance rate? Btw I wish to major in bcom with specialization in finance and economics. Thnx:)

Applications open up in November. Acceptances start going out in December. Acceptances are released in several batches with the last batch being in May. For selective programs such as commerce, the biggest release of acceptances will be in March, April and May.

The testing and course requirements are here - http://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/admissions/high-school-students/us-highschool

Essentially, you need the SAT or ACT plus 2 subject tests/AP/IB. For Rotman Commerce (B.Com), one of the subject tests/AP/IB has to be Math II/AP Calculus/Math HL or SL. You will also need 12th grade English. You will also need to complete the Rotman supplemental application. http://rotmancommerce.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/apply/supplemental-application/ The supplemental application includes an untimed essay and a video that must be uploaded within an hour after receiving the prompt.

The first link says that you will need a minimum of 600 in each SAT section or 26 on the ACT. However, commerce is more selective than that. You will probably need a 2000 SAT or 30 ACT.

Overall, U of T’s acceptance rate is in the high 50’s. However, that’s because it’s (almost) purely grade driven, the Ontario cutoff grades are well known and Ontario students don’t apply to programs they can’t get into.

I’m taking ap calculus 2nd semester and can’t take the test for it until April- what do I do? Thanks

Take the math 2 sat subject test. It doesn’t require calculus.
