I am a grade 12 student and I am looking to apply to university of toronto. I want to apply for accountancy. What is the least score i should get on SAT 1 if I want to get admitted to the university? My gpa for grade 11 is 95, 95,92.8 percent for grade 11. We have a trimester. THANKS!
The absolute minimum score that U of T will accept is 600 on each section. However, accounting is under the Rotman School of Commerce which is one of the top 3 most competitive programs, so a higher score is better. https://rotmancommerce.utoronto.ca/future-students/program-overview/
By way of comparison McGill Desautels has a minimum of 670 in each section of the SAT I and II. I imagine Toronto Rotman would be similar. Also Canadian universities are firm in their minimum requirements and meeting the minima does not guarantee acceptance.
Edit: in your other thread you state that you are a Korean student studying in the Philippines. are you attending an American high school there?
Thank you! I’m attending a local philippine university… Does same SAT scores apply for chemical engineering?
Hold on, are you in high school or university??
I would say at least a high 1300’s on the SAT is a good idea. Remember, though, that UofT is easier to get in than American universities but it totally kills grades. I don’t know Filipino GPA’s, but I would assume that for a competitive program like this, a low 1400’s would be competitive.
Also, as far as I’m aware, extracurriculars and life stories don’t matter at all. I know it matters for UBC and Queen’s, but I know not for UofT. Maybe it matters for the Rotman Commerce, but I can’t confirm it.
Note that the SAT may not be required.
Thank you everyone! Well this university offers grade 11 and 12 so im still highschool
Extracurriculars and life stories do matter for Rotman. https://rotmancommerce.utoronto.ca/future-students/how-to-apply/supplemental-application/ While not required, SAT or other standardized test scores will be helpful to your application. You will also need to satisfy the English language requirements. http://www.future.utoronto.ca/apply/requirements/international-high-school-secondary-university-or-college-post-secondary You will also need calculus.
