University of Toronto

Is there anyone here who graduated from University of Toronto or applied and was accepted/declined? I need to know because im applying and im confused about the app. To apply you need to fill out an application that covers all universities in the ontario area. Im confused on when it says to rank colleges and it gives a list of colleges in the university.
Innis College
New College
St Michael's College
Trinity College
University College
Victoria College
Woodsworth College

Im applying as an undergrad and my major im listing is international relations/peace conflict resolution. So i dont know how i should rank them. Im also confused on the matter of SAT II tests i think it may require three but im unsure.

The University of Toronto has 3 campuses. The St. George Campus where the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is located (and where your Int. Relations courses would be) has 7 colleges...you might take courses at the other colleges but your home base would be the college you select. You have to list them in order of preference in the OUAC application form.

Here is an explanation about the college system taken from the site.
Quote: "College preference is strictly personal preference. Each college has its own character or personality and different things appeal to different students: location, residences, size, traditions, architecture, family affiliation, religious affiliation -- or any other feature. Find out something about the colleges. Read the descriptions in the University of Toronto Handbook, view their home pages from the University of Toronto website, and perhaps visit those that seem most suitable for you. One thing is certain: whichever college you attend will give you a warm welcome and personal support throughout your years at the University and in your future life". end quote

Yes, you need 3 Sat II's.

Thank you that answered everything ..If you have any suggestions of which i should put as my number 1 thats always welcomed.

It's a personal decision..the residences in each college are different, as is the make up of the student population..the percentage of first year students etc. and their locations. If you click on the link below and then click on page 44-55, you can read up on the various colleges and see which you might prefer.

I am researching all of this for my daughter so its all new to us too.

I graduated from U of T a few years back. Several of the colleges have pretty deep religious bents to them, but I'm sure they all have students and faculty of various religions. But in GENERAL St. Michael's is Catholic; Trinity is the most upper class and Episcopal; Victoria was Protestant but not very hardcore about it; and University was heavily Jewish. They all have very different vibes and architecture, so I'd suggest you go for a visit if you can.

I also have a question about the SAT II's. Im scheduled to take spanish, US history, and enlgish lit. Is US history an acceptable SAT II for a canadian school lol that might sound really stupid.
