University of Utah Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

My D’s shows the full OOS COA and no unmatched amount. It does show a federal loan of $5,500.

We’re in a WUE state and her GPA is 4.0, so maybe that means she is getting a bigger scholarship? Can I dream?

Ours shows the same thing. Full OOS tuition and $5500 FDL loan. From CA and son also has 4.0+ gpa. I’m feeling a little better reading that other people are experiencing the same thing. I had a moment of panic last night when I saw the large tuition number and thought I may had missed a deadline!

Ack! I need reassurance again - our son’s data is completely blank! No tuition, no federal loans, no nothing - anyone else still have no data on any of the darn little piggybank links? Please tell me others are in this boat too?

This is what my son’s looks like too. Nothing at all!

Thanks for the reassurance that it isn’t just us. They must be handling the CS majors with a gaming minor last  - lol.

It seems likely that she is getting a bigger scholarship. When they give the WUE for a 3.0, I would assume they are going to offer more for very high stat kids. Who knows? This is all just a little bonkers!

ETA- At this point, I think we’d all be happy just to know something! In case anyone is keeping track, we decided to go ahead and pay the LLC deposit today. It seems like most of us did.

The Eccles Scholarship deadline has been backed up again to Match 16th…

Same here. $5500 federal loan of which $3500 is subsidized. Check the line Unmet Need. Looks like this is a standard package!

My D’s says 0 for unmet need, but I think that is because our EFC is only $1000 less than COA so the loans cover need.

I see.

S noticed that after paying the housing deposit, the roommate preference form popped up on his housing portal. Is it just the application fee or does this portion also have a March 10 deadline?

You select your specific room at a given date and time. You can see anything existing occupants (ie people who had an earlier time) have filled in. You can also search to find people you might want to share with in advance. So the preferences aren’t used to dictate some sort of semi-random allocation.

Obviously if you fill them in the you are more likely to have people message you asking to share, but that probably won’t be until the week before the room selection times when people have a better sense of whether they will be attending. But of the four people who chose to live in D’s original freshman apartment, two didn’t attend and she was moved later to another apartment, so none of it really mattered very much in the end.

When my son finished his housing app he spent hour looking through the suggested roommates form. He noticed there was not many incoming freshmen his age… he did it a month ago hopefully due to this little glitch and folk having to do this early he has more options now!

Would be good to get together with the right folks who wil attend before then.

Note that many LDS boys will go on their mission straight after high school (18 is the minimum age). I can imagine that those who are coming back and know they will be attending the U in the fall might register early and then they would be 2 years older. For girls 19 is the minimum age so they won’t usually go straight after high school, though some do decide to intermit during college.

I think kids coming straight from high school are likely to be applying more widely and so will be deciding later. You may see better matches pop up once selection times are sent out.

where do we pay the housing fee?

In the portal. It’s under the housing tab.

we cant seem to find it

Once you are logged in to portal, click student homepage, student housing, housing and residential ed, housing U and then at the top apply for housing.

I guess it is a little complicated!

We did all of that, but cannot find where to pay. It just thanks us for filling out the application
