My older son has been very happy there by the way. Not sure if #2 will go just because he wants to find his own way. Itā€™s a great school.

My S22 was accepted with $16k merit/year, Presidential scholarship. OOS 3.92 UW no scores. Full IB Diploma. Thinking applying with no scores hurt him a tiny bit with merit $. Does anyone know how the HC application works?

Looks like last year HC was 20k merit and announced with acceptance, so thinking my son wasnā€™t selected. Still happy about the acceptance! Burlington seems like a lovely place to go to college, although we havenā€™t visited.

I got in with a Presidential Scholarship! It didnā€™t mention anything about the Honors College, did anyone else hear about that in their decision?

I think they just extend an invite. Not sure it that comes with the initial letter or later. My older son never got it and he had the Presidential Scholorship ($17K/year). He is graduating with Honors though so all good!

Someone on reddit received Honors College just now.

I just looked it up and it says you receive it at the same time as acceptance however some early applicants who donā€™t get it at first may get it as late as February

I think that this happened with my friendā€™s daughter (who did not end up attending) because she told me she was initially accepted with a merit scholorship and then they offered her more later.

@Kenmar68 - exact same for my IB student. Disappointed the IB doesnā€™t count for more.

@momof2boys65 - thanks for posting the link. Donā€™t think we can make it work financially at this point, but crossing fingers my boy receives more merit.

Well financial aid awards should be announced soon. Maybe you will get something there. My older son did, although the award varied from year to year. Of all the Out of State state schools he applied to UVM actually gave him the best merit and FA package. They still donā€™t meet full need though, and we made sure his brother applied to plenty of meet need schools, so we shall see where else he gets in and what they offer.

What college did you apply to? Some of them are much harder to get into. Hopefully you will get in the RD round.

this was my safety school I applied to the college of sciences as a bio major Iā€™m withdrawing my application lol

Congratulations on Fordham and Penn State University park

My daughter got Deferred 4.0 UW with extracurriculars, all honors, and AP. We didnā€™t show much demonstrated interest as it was more of a safety school but was a little surprised. Got into Furman, U of SC, U of Alabama, Fordham and Seton Hall and most with merit. We shall see what regular decision holds but her favorite safety was UNH so fingers will be crossed for that one.
