***University of Virginia RD Class of 2021 Discussion Thread***

@CheekyNandos, I got Echols Scholar.

@CheekyNandos Yeah, Echols + College Science Scholar
@HYPSPlease Have you receive the snail mail from them yet? I have not

@ThemanX, only email so far.

Do they send out an additional physical mail for echols/sciece scholar/rodman?

@HYPSPlease Same here
@voltthorn I think all will come together in the same mail. Just my opinion, worth 2cents.

@ThemanX I was accepted EA to UVA, but I was recently selected to be a Rodman Scholar.

@voltthorn Then, I have no idea! Email the admission office will be the best choice!

Has anyone got their FA update yet?

@voltthorn I got mine in an email yesterday

@voltthorn Yeah I got mine on SIS. Sadly I won’t be able to afford UVA.

Accepted OOS Berkeley and in-state UVA…CONFUSED now !!!

I read on Dean J’s blog that DOL are full! Wow! If you weren’t able to get a spot, remember that you can always visit UVa (not during DOL as they don’t have enough parking and so forth) to explore on your own. Also, there will be an orientation during the summer months prior to the beginning of the semester so you will have even more time to explore then. My son is a third year in SEAS and he did not attend DOL, but we came up to visit grounds once before he applied and then again during orientation. Both visits were great and there was ample time to discover what UVa and Charlottesville had to offer. :smiley:

anyone got their FA update yet?

Has anyone gotten any information on tuition deposit waivers?

Does anyone have any idea when Waitlist decisions come out?

@IloveMyGoogle, this is covered in the waiting list FAQs! Click the link your letter to read them. :slight_smile:

I’m finally getting around to this as the school year comes to a close…
Accepted OOS, 31 ACT, 4.25 GPA, 9 APs, the usual ECs - 3 sports, Science Olympiad, Key Club, mentor at an elementary school learn to code club. Although I will not be attending UVA next fall, I just wanted to post this as a reminder that test scores are not everything. A 31 ACT is well below OOS averages but that doesn’t mean it is impossible to get in. As I saw people mention many, many times in this thread, UVA seems to weigh heavily on essays. Make them unique, make them stand out. I truly think my essays got me in. UVA really does take a holistic approach. Good luck and best wishes to the new 2021 Hoos and next year’s prospective 2022s!
