@jesshehehaha, Foster sends out Direct Admit letters through mid-April and they haven’t notified anyone yet. You will receive a letter if you were admitted to the program, but you won’t receive anything if you were not. So if you don’t get a letter by mid-April, you most likely didn’t get in to Foster (just Arts & Sciences).

Reflection
Strengths: Well-roundedness, essays, ACT
Weaknesses: SAT
Why you think you were accepted: I’m pretty sure it’s because I had a little bit of everything. I got the feeling they were looking for good people with good grades and activities, not rocket scientists. My SATs sucked but my ACT was decent, so I think they gave me a closer look. I’m getting into schools that people here with much better grades and scores but no extracurriculars or service haven’t gotten into. I have to believe they are looking for well-rounded.

Congrats @Diriris1. This shows me that they are really reading applications, unlike the UC system here in CA. Your scores are admittedly quite low, but you have achieved and given so much. They need real people like you. Amazing. Perhaps because of you, more colleges will now begin looking at the whole applicant, not just numbers.

Decision: Accepted

[ *] Job/Work Experience: Worked at a 7-Eleven in South Korea during one summer
[ *] Volunteer/Community service: 300+ community service hours (volunteering at art fairs and other community events)
[ *] Essays: I thought my personal and cultural essays were good

[ *] Intended Major: Bioengineering
[ *] State (if domestic applicant): Washington
[ *] School Type: Large public school, very competitive

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[ *] Strengths: Essays, extracurriculars, and rigorous course loads (junior and senior year)

[/ul]**General comments: ** Extremely happy with the results. I was nervous days before the decisions came out but I am glad everything worked out =).
