University of Washington Admission chances

Hello,
I am currently pursuing my Junior year at high school. I recently migrated from India in 2010. I did my freshman year in India. I have managed to take 3 AP courses and will have completed 7 by the end of senior year. Also, I moved since my mom remarried and I had to not only adapt to new American culture, but also a new family.

I only have 3.4 G.P.A due to differences in grading system in India. But, I have shown consistent improvement through out my sophomore and junior year. I will be taking the SAT in a month. I took several practice tests and received a score of 1800-1900. I am also doing Washington Aerospace Scholars along with my regular classes.

EC includes Indian professional classical dancer and singer, several choirs at school, Praise and worship member at church, leading an Indian association students wing, tutor and a group member of Relay for life team.

Considering several UW reqs, what are my chances of getting into UW? Also, I am an in-state student. Being new to this country, I would be more than happy to receive advice and help from all who have experienced the college admission process. Thanks in advance

The GPA could potentially hurt, but the SAT is definitely in range for UW. I told someone else this bit of info, though: They are super random in admissions. I know someone who had under a 3.0 GPA and a < 1300 SAT who was admitted, and someone who had a 3.7 and a > 1600 SAT who was rejected. So I’d definitely recommend you take a shot! They accept about 45% of transfers and my guess is that you’d be accepted. Just a guess, though. Don’t hold it against me.

I wont apply as a transfer student since I am a permanent resident. So, yeah I’ll give it a try:D
