? seriously. I check the uw portal and this thread so often. I feel like they treat the transfers like second rate students because they wait so long to get back to us. We can’t even plan our lives until we hear back. I’m really annoyed by this
I did not apply to the College of Education, but I can say that I am still waiting to hear back for general admission. I applied for Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. I think I am considered “pre-engineering,” though. I was unable to apply directly into the major due falling short of the prerequisites. Hence, I am hoping to transfer in for general admission and I am also STILL waiting and checking every 5 minutes :).

Yeah, I feel like we are scum on the bottom of a pond to them. If we’re lucky, they will eventually drag their hook across us and…see the absolute beauty in scum and JAR IT for daily admiration LOL. It does kind of put our lives on hold and definitely feels like we’re in limbo. I applied at the end of JANUARY and I’ve been monitoring the MyUW portal and this thread forever. Everyday is “going to be the day,” which turns out to be just another day. SOON my friends…soon…

I bet it’s June 28th when we all hear back LOL (assuming we receive a decision by the end of this month). I still have a “we will inform you when a decision is made on your application.” Pulling my hair out.
@uwstats Not yet, but they also havent receieved my transcripts yet so my application is being reviewed late anyway

Has anyone been accepted as a transfer for general admission? I have heard of many people getting into their major, but I don’t recall seeing that anyone has been notified of general admission for transfer.
@gNelly one of my friends got into environmental science (their applications are reviewed by GA) and some of my mechanical engineering friends got offered department + GA as well.
Thanks for the feedback, @uwstats ! I wish we knew the order behind the review process. Maybe it’s tied to the desired major?
Does anyone know how long the freshman applicants had to accept their offer for admission?
Most colleges require freshman applicants to accept by May 1. @gNelly. As a transfer, the other university I applied to required acceptance by May 1 or 30 days after receiving the offer, whichever was later.
@Roomba6576 CONGRATS!!! WOOHOO! I have no changes in my application, but I did get an email saying that I am a recipient of a scholarship I applied for! So that is a good sign. Hopefully I hear back soon!
WOOOOOOOOO!!! My unofficial transcript just loaded. I applied for microbiology and it says “pre-science” as expected. I have an overall GPA of 3.6 and a prerequisite science GPA of 3.9 from a Washington community college. My essay was just ok, not amazing. The long wait paid off! Good luck to the rest of you
