University of Washington Fall 2017 acceptance

Hey guys,

Just applied to UW so thought I’d start chatting. I’m a transfer from in an in state community college. Applied with a 3.74 GPA, after fall quarter 2016 I will have 68 credits, but by time I transfer I will have 93 and my AA completed (this spring). I’m a little worried since I’m taking my math/science/language courses for winter/spring 2017 so I don’t have them completed yet, but I will by Fall 2017. I’m applying for an open major (anthropology) and I think my personal statement is pretty good - there wasn’t a lot of hardship for me to talk about but I just talked about my desire to do well and how it’s evident through my AP/honor courses in high school, and my good grades in college. I talked about how I went to a community college because I was unsure of what I wanted to do, and so I could work to save money for college, and then I talked about the anthropology courses I took and how I loved them and knew that was what I wanted to do.

hi! I just wanted to ask what were your ECs?

I didn’t put any as I explained how I work full time to pay for school.

Which now worries me that this was a mistake, but I truly don’t have any so I didn’t want to lie.

EC’s are as important as the SAT or ACT and your GPA. So having no EC’s really hurts you but your essay could either make or break you. Good luck <3
