I sent my SIR to the University of Washington, Seattle days ago, but I recently got admitted to Boston University. Now, I have this new feeling of ambivalence. Money is not really a problem, but I'm an international student if that is anything important. U Dub considers me as an out-of-state applicant while BU considers me a pure international student so tuition differences do exist. Which school is more prestigious? Which school is more academically better? Which school would be more beneficial for a person who wants to pursue biomedical research?

Personally, I prefer UDub. Neither is really all the more "prestigious" than the other, although I think BU is harder to get into. I think BU is stronger more with the humanities than it is with the sciences- UDub's speciality, however, is probably computer science, although they're strong with all of the sciences in general. If you like Seattle enough, go to UDub. Better science program, not as cold, etc. I don't think there's that much of a difference in the social atmosphere, but if you find that there is and money isn't a problem, go wherever you choose.

Hmm... In the long run, will it really matter where I go for undergraduate school? As in, will there be a big effect on my graduate school chances depending on which school that I go to? (This is a silly question... x_x)
