My options are University of Washington and Georgia Tech, both OOS. I got accepted into engineering for both. However, I'm not sure if engineering is really for me and might consider switching to a business major. I'm really looking forward to maintaining a high GPA and transfer to a better school after my first year.

GaTech has a much better engineering program, but it's really the only thing GaTech is known for. I'm afraid Ill be screwed if I decide that engineering is not for me. Plus I've heard from many ppl that GaTech is very hard on freshmen and weeds out a lot of them. I'm not so much worried about failing courses, but i think it will be much harder to get a high GPA there.

Washington just seems easier overall. Compared to GaTech they're about the same level of rep/prestige, amirite? Both the engineering and the business schools at UW seem mediocre there though. So Ill be semi-screwed if I don't manage to transfer.

Location isn't really a deciding factor, but I prefer washington from what i've heard. I like the mountains, the ocean, the liberal setting, and the overall climate except for the lack of sunshine. I don't know much about Atlanta though.
