I come from a top high school in the Northern Virginia area (suburbs of Washington, DC) and it is ranked in the top 100 schools in the nation. My extracurricular activities are better than the average applicant, as I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for four years, been on mission trips to Costa Rica with service and a spanish immersion program, volunteered in surgery at a local hospital, been on honor roll, and have worked with special olympics. I rocked the UW essay and went over it with tutors and english teachers.
With my grades (I know my GPA isn’t the greatest, my mom had cancer freshman and sophomore years) do I have a reasonable chance of getting in? Seattle looks amazing, and I will be coming from out of state from a wealthy family capable of paying. They say not to send transcripts and that if they want one from a particular student, they will ask. I applied in October and they haven’t asked yet so I don’t know if that is a bad sign or not. I have the best grades I’ve ever had this year, I really want them to see my transcript lol.
I did get an email from them saying to save the date for admitted students day, which could potentially be a good sign. I kept getting a bunch of those kind of emails from the University of Colorado before being accepted!
