University of Washington?

Hi, I’m a high school graduate taking a gap year this year. I will be applying to University of Washington as a freshman in-state, and I will be happy if you can chance me.
I would do my best to post all the information that will help to determine whether I’m a good match for UW, but since I kind of don’t like the fact that you can’t delete your thread nor your account in CC (the reason I never posted before), I want to write minimal information about myself, and I hope that’s ok with y’all checking this out.

Here’s my stats, and I’m intended for Bioengineering major.
I will be happy if you can chance me for Direct Admission too.

GPA: 3.97 (weighted around 4.3)
ACT: 31
SAT II: Math, Science, and foreign language all in lower 700’s
Rank: top 10%
Honors: 4 honors classes, 6 AP classes (took 4 of the exams, all 4’s and 5’s)
Biliterate. I have been studying a third language at school for 5 years.

Awards: Academic All-America, OSAA Athlete Scholar, Award in a language I’ve been studying for 5 years, Society of Women Engineers Award, Tutoring Award (twice)

Extracurriculars: NHS, tutoring (did it 4 years but never consistent), volunteering (250+ hours), 1 Varsity sport (participated 2 years), 1 JV sport (participated 2 years)

Hooks : First generation, Salutatorian

Do I have a chance of getting into engineering Direct Admission?
Will I qualify for Huskie Promise? (reminder: Washington resident

Probably made it confusing for the part that said,
“Biliterate. I have been studying a third language at school for 5 years.”
I can speak /read/ write English and also another language. And on top of that I’m learning a third language, which I have been studying for 5 years. .

It’s a safety. You considered the honors program? I was accepted to it with slightly lower stats than yours.

@sayfullahstah Thanks! It’s so nice to hear that I have a good chance :smiley:

@gdlt234 Congrats for getting into honors!
This is a silly question, but what are the benefits of getting into honors program?

Thanks! Not silly at all, I wondered the same thing. From what I understood you got to live in a different residence hall (it’s new I think), you got special interdisciplinary classes (often smaller than normal classes), and I heard someone tell me once that you got special study abroad programs, but I never knew if this one was true or not. Also I think there are special scholarships that only honors students can apply for.

@gdlt234 So for the scholarships that only honors students can apply for, does that mean that after we get accepted to honors, we get to apply before our freshman year starts or do we get to apply during freshmen, sophomore, etc. years?
And are you familiar of the Husky Promise?

Bump!! :x
Anyone else who can chance me, especially for Direct Admits into Bioengineering?
How can I raise my chance of getting accepted?
I want to make this as real as possible. Any tips on supplement essays would be really helpful too.
Thank you in advance.

I’m not sure about those details since I didn’t end up attending, but I’m sure you could find that info on their website. Just look up UW Honors and you should find the info you need.

@gdlt234 Thank you!

You have a good chance! Good luck!

@Minion15 Thank you!

Update & Bump!
I just received the AP Scholar Award with Distinction!

Can anyone chance me, tell me about their experience with Huskie Promise or how hard is it to get directly admitted to Bioengineering?
