University of Wisconsin Business

Is the University of Wisconsin-Madison's undergrad business school any good? Could I get a good job with a degree from it? Anyone know the avg starting salary out of college for U of W grads? How much better of a job could i get out of Michigan-Ann Arbor?

It's a notch below rated 12th in US News but still solid. 2005 avg starting salary around $45K plus bonus. Main difference is Wall St where UM places better. UW places well in Midwest which hurts the salary average a bit as many stay in Wisconsin where salaries and COL are lower.. Very good programs in real estate, investing, market research, supply-chain mgt, and insurance. Also admit to UM business is very competitve as the school is smaller--need a 3.6 vs 3.3 in first two years ug.

OF COURSE YOU CAN GET A JOB.

first, it depends on how ambitious you are. if you are satisfied with a regional firm in midwest, i would say both UW and UMAA will prepare u for that.

However, if you are looking for an analyst position in some of the biggest investment banks on the wall street, you have a much better chance by going to UMAA because most investment banks ACTIVELY recruit there.
