University of Wisconsin Madison or University of Washington?

Thanks everyone, your comments have been super helpful! Looks like I’ll have some thinking and considering to do and I’ll be keeping your posts in mind:)

“Good thing you got out of there as soon as possible.”

At a certain age you dont feel like changing jobs unless forced to. Money was good too. But never really loved Seattle. It was just a place with bad traffic like Atlanta. The fake niceness aka Seattle nice was annoying. Passive aggression ruled. Being from NJ I prefer real aggression and directness. And seeing the same 400 people demonstrating every week about something got very old. Also in the city petty crime is rampant. Cops do nothing.

Your new environment sure has given you a sunny disposition.

Speaking of which, look at this beautiful sunset:

Yes, I’m happier than ever now and can reflect on being trapped by work for 23 years.
This is our new home. It is on a street similar to what you might find in Washington Park and one of the smallest on that street. It cost less than 25% of what it might go for in Seattle. And people are actually friendly.
