University of Wisconsin-Madison Radio-tv-film concentration

I know there is a radio-tv-film concentration in the communication arts program at Wisconsin. I want to do something with television production for my career, so would this program be good for that. Any other info about this program or the school in general would be appreciated.

I assume you checked out their website for the concentration in the Com Arts Dept. I have many friends who graduated with this concentration and a number have gone on to positions with ESPN, covering the Olympics or MTV. They speak highly of the program and they attended before the Dept. had so many production oriented courses. Good luck.

My friend had an awesome internship with ESPNU and went on to work for the Big Ten Network and graduated from this program. Don’t know any actually valuable information–sorry for that.

The guy that built ESPN was a badger. Now runs another smaller network. Others had high spots at MTV, and other cable networks. Quite a few news types but more are producers and such. The Amercian Family producer, guy that did big smoking piece on 60 Minutes that became a hit film, large number of directors and producers in Hollywood. Michael Mann, Zuckers Bros., Jim Abrahams, Terry Zwigoff, Eroll Morris. Some hits include Airplane, Ghost, Ruthless People, Ghost World, Crumb, Last of the Mohicans, Miami Vice and lots more.
