University of Wisconsin - Madison TIPS

I am a freshman in high school and for my 1st semester GPA is 3.5. I know this is kind of bad, but this is because this past semester I have been slacking. I am in all honors classes and will be taking AP classes as a sophomore and throughout. I have not taken and ACTs or SATs either. I am in 2 sports and 2 after school clubs. (DECA and Model UN) So I was wondering if I get my grades up with these upcoming years will I have a shot into getting into Madison?

Thanks

Please help?

Yes, you have a chance of getting into Madison. My daughter, an in-state resident, was admitted with an overall GPA of 3.4 and an ACT score of 34. She had some activities and wrote a great essay. Good luck!

From the UW website:

Here are the general qualifications of our admitted freshmen. These figures are not cutoffs. They are the middle 50% range for each indicator, so 25% of admitted students fell below the range and 25% placed above it.

Rank: 85–96th percentile
GPA: 3.5–3.9
ACT: 27–29
SAT: 1860–2090
