Hi All
Our kid got accepted at ASU Barret’s honors Computer Science and University of Wisconsin-Madison. We do know that UW is better rated. But wondering if any body can provide more insights as to.
Class size
Advisory and Support
First year support as student is transitioning to college life
Research internship opportunities
General college life and dorms.
Thank you very much for your help.
Are you instate for Wisconsin? If not, I am assuming that your net cost is much higher at UW.
Correct, net cost is higher. Keeping cost aside, I am looking for Pros and Cons.
Congratulations! My son is a junior '2019 and we also recently toured ASU Barrett’s -impressive honors college. My son also really liked Wisconsin. We are interested in this thread and what you decide. We are out of state for both.
For class size, try looking at on line schedules for classes of interest at each school.
Thank you, we visited Barret’s recently and quite liked it.
One is top 10 public university, the other is top 10 in PAC12, just kidding. But hope you get my point. Would you choose UA over ASU? Or UCLA over ASU? You will experience fun and academic college life in Wisconsin.
We live in Madison and UW-Madison has a great reputation. There would be plenty of research opportunities here. The thing that stands out about UW is the students and faculty are among the friendliest people you could ever meet. We moved here from the west coast a few years ago and we immediately noticed a difference in the people. Although we loved the people on the west coast, there is definitely truth behind the reputation midwesterners have for being friendly, kind-hearted and down-to-earth. UW is top notch academically but it doesn’t have an intensely competitive feel. I’m certain your son would feel warmly welcomed and very much supported at UW-Madison. Hope that helps!
@FremontGuy What was the final decision?
