Looking at Monmouth University, the campus seemed nice and friendly during my visit. It seemed nice since it was so close to the beach. Does anyone know anything about the school? Is it all commuters.....

You can find out tons of information about the schools you are interested in at www.xap.com.

according to princetonreview.com, "Most Monmouth students hail from New Jersey and the surrounding states, and more than half are commuters."

also.. i don't know if you have your heart set on Monmouth yet or not, but if you're looking for schools on or by the beach consider these others as well:
University of California Santa Barbara (Campus on beach)
University of Charleston in South Carolina (10 minutes walking distance)
University of Florida (45 minutes)
Florida State University (45 minutes)
University of Southern Alabama in Mobile (20 minutes)
University of Miami (5 minutes)
...and pretty much all the california schools

the only thing about schools by beaches in northern states is that it will always be cold, and when it's warm enough to go to the beach it will be summer and you won't be there to enjoy it. that's just my perspective b/c i was/am considering some schools near the beach.

University of Miami, Pepperdine University(Malibu)

Eckerd College in Florida is right on the beach. So is Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.

I know there are lots of schools near a beach. I am only interested in Monmouth. Any info?

i have a friend that goes to MU and I live about 2 hours away. The area is very normal upper class with a yes a beautiful shore but not really the type you can swim in all the time ( its more secluded) the area is very average college community and alot of people to commute because its actually cheaper to live off campus in some cases. not very hard to get in, but if you are above average shoot for honors program

UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara) is right on the beach! Go there!

UCSD is right next to the beach. La Jolla beaches are beautiful...though to be honest, you should consider environment but it shouldnt be your sole reason for going surely?
