university or community college (please help asap)

Hello I have been accepted to five out of the six universities/colleges I've applied to.

Places I got accepted to:
Indiana university of pennsylvania
Penn state berks
Albright college
Shippensburg university
California state university: northridge

Where I didn't get into:
Temple university

The thing is I really wanted to get into temple. I'm upset I didn't get in but they told me they would hold my application for a year and then if I went to school somewhere else for a little then I could transfer if my grades prove I can succeed at temple. The thing is I was going to go to one of the five schools I got accepted to and then eventually transfer to temple then I started thinking about what if I just went to community college of philadelphia? They have a dual admission program that allows me to take classes that will transfer and if I maintain I think at least a 2.3 I can transfer over to temple.....if I even wanted to I could transfer to drexel university. My deposit is due by may 1st for the school I'm considering....so I have little time to decide. What should I do? Also would it be stupid to throw away university for community college.

I am not really worried about paying for school but if I went to philly I would need an apartment but my financial aid package should be good and I'm having my father who does not live/claim me get me a loan.

Trust me do community college first just work as hard as you can to raise your gpa and then you can go to temple, but make sure you apply as soon as possible if you plan to apply for spring admission. I am praying on admission to temple as I type this. If temple is the university you really want to go to above the others I say go for it and do what you have to do to get in. Good Luck!

I’m a big fan of community colleges. At least the ones near us are cheaper than the universities, have smaller classes, have articulation agreements with the universities anyway, and have really caring profs. If you’re planning to transfer anyway I don’t see the point in paying extra.

Ask Temple if they’d be just as happy with your proving yourself at a CC as they would with your proving yourself at a U. Also ask them if this is a guaranteed admission (if you get a 3.85 with 30 credits in one year, you WILL be accepted) or just another chance (we’ll be willing to look at your application again).

If you are instate for CSUN - go there.
