University Plaza Apartments?

A few days ago I got a postcard from University Plaza apartments, advertising their apartments near Binghamton. I'm in the Scholars Program, so I got my first housing choice (Mountainview), but now I'm wondering if I should live in University Plaza instead. As someone who's going to be a freshman at BU, my first thought had been that Binghamton doesn't allow freshmen to live off campus, but on University Plaza's application form, there are boxes to select your standing, and one is for Freshmen. So I'm wondering if that means that freshmen are allowed to live there, or if that's there because of some technicality or something? (I'd just call them, but it's a weekend.)

And beyond that, I'm wondering what the general impression of University Plaza is. How far from campus is it, and does it have a specific reputation? (For example, I had been considering going to UNC Chapel Hill, and they have an off-campus apartment complex that's considered very frat-like, so I'm basically wondering if University Plaza has a specific reputation too.) I mainly like that the doubles at University Plaza have separate rooms for each person, but are there any downsides to living there that I might not be aware of?

I'm pretty sure freshmen can't live in University Plaza.

Regardless, the apartments are pretty nice. I haven't been inside them, but for college apartments they look nice from the outside. They're right next door to the BU campus. They surround a plaza that has a bank and a few stores.

I hear Mountainview is really, really nice though.
