University Scholarship

I was hopeful about the 8% increase in Financial Aid too, until I read it’s spread over the entire student body … not just allocated to freshman. So sophmores, juniors and seniors are getting a piece of that pie too.

Thanks, mraoshi!

My S (who will be a junior at USC in the fall) received his Trustee scholarship notification in March, then the University scholarship ($2500/yr) notification at the end of April. As with the other posters, it was something that came out of the blue. It has since been renamed (at least for him), the Esrey scholarship. He was National Merit so receives $1000/yr in addition to the Trustee and the University/Esrey scholarships. He also submitted his decision to attend USC right away, so getting the University scholarship didn’t appear to be tied to not accepting right away.

Welcome back to posting, MomofThree.

To everyone still waiting, I wouldn’t give up hope of the University Scholarships just yet. It has seemed that FinAid and merit awards have come out later this year than last.

I got a University Scholarship for $4,000. Came out when my financial aid stuff came out (beginning of this month). I didn’t get Trustee or Presidential, but I did get quite a bit of need-based grants and the Cal Grant.

My son received $4,000 a year from the University Scholarship and we are soooo grateful, as he did not receive any of the big merit based awards. I think it was posted online somewhere around the 20th or 21st, and he received letters via snail mail by last Friday, the 24th. Thank you to USC.

We got our financial aid yesterday! We have two kids heading for college…so we are analyzing the numbers. Thanks everyone for their support.
