Any CCC students getting one?

you get it automatically if you're igetc certified dont you? it's kind of pointless to say you have one, isnt it?

You don't get it automatically--you have to request it. I'm not sure what they advantages/disadvantages are to it; that's why I posted.

any new opinions on this?

I got mine!!! It's somewhere among all my files at home. There really is no disadvantage to getting it, but as soon as you earn a better degree you'll recognize the better one.

Most science AAs are constructed from a collection of introductory courses in chemistry, physics, biology, math and some social science electives. I see absolutely no use for it in the real world.
I'm about 10 credits away from recieving my AA, however, I decided to take the semster off. In my opinion an AA enigneering is equivalent in its importance to a note from my parents saying that I am a good boy :).

I'll be transferring one class short of an AA (history). Then again, it won't matter whether I have an AA or not if I get a BA.

So, let's all hope that sarcasmgirl gets her BA.

(bump)......

how do you get an AA? What is this AA you get by completing IGETC?

wouldn't it be in transfer studies?

Some schools have both. At my college you get the University Studies AA by completing IGETC, having 60 units, etc...

I have a friend who qualifies for 7 AAs!

Wowzers...how many units did it take to accomplish that feat?

He has 90 something units. He switched majors after ahwile.

I think some CCCs require a Phys Ed and Health class for an AA, which isn't required in IGETC. I think everything else is the same though.

The idea of the university studies AA is you get it for basically completing transfer requirements and nothing else (no phys ed and health unless its part of the transfer program or your transferable units).
