What do you guys all know about University Towers, the students within them and the application?
This is probably where I am going to end up and I just want to know whatever you guys know.

All I know is there tend to be a lot of people involved in fraternities and sororities which may give you a general idea of the culture there. It doesn’t look bad. Sometimes people who live there will throw things at people walking on the streets like glass bottles or water balloons; but I’ve seen that happen to people all around west campus; it’s stupid.

It’s not a bad location either.

If you are a guy and plan on going out for a frat then that is the place to be. The place is an animal house…always a hot mess, pretty loud and something is always going on. With that said, that works for some people and doesn’t for others. It is occupied by mainly frat guys so if you are anti greek, this would not be the place for you. And yes some girls live there, but I certainly would not advise it.

MY d lived there, and loved it. Yes she went greek. Tends to have a higher percent of OOS students than most dorms. The suites are more spacious than a dorm room. The private bath, kitchen, and living room is also a bonus.
It does get loud and wild. It is a very social dorm.

I am definitely hoping to be in a sorority and I am OOS, so I think if I go to UT I’ll end up here

Towers is a great place to live if you are a guy and want to join a fraternity. A lot of people in fraternities live here. Most guys from the big cities and well-known high schools in Texas live here, aka Highland Park, Memorial, Alamo Heights, etc. There are also a lot of people who are from out of state that live here.

IF you are a girl, I would not recommend living in University Towers. It is pretty much a place where guys hang out, and girls will come and party. Girls, you will not be happy. If you are a girl, I would live in a place like SRD or Hardin House (especially if you are rushing!)
