<p>I'm a Texas resident in the top 10% of my class so I know I'm in but I was wondering if anyone that has posted in this discussion has lived or lives in the University Towers...is it enjoyable? If I get into the engineering honors program, would honors housing be better?</p>
<p>Our son lived in Towers his freshman year. He liked it some days and not others, which is probably true for anywhere you may live. </p>
<p>The good points for Towers are the big rooms and convenient parking (for an extra fee). You also have a kitchen and cafeteria privileges, so eating is more flexible. The bad points are the noise level and it's an older building so it has a moldy smell. It's also several blocks from campus and the walk gets tiresome.</p>
<p>I don't know about the ABC dorms but, in general, the good points are the convenient location on campus and they have regular social activities so it's easier to meet other honors students. The bad points, or so I've heard, is that the rooms are small and cramped and the cafeteria and parking are not convenient. However, I think most honors students like the camaraderie of the ABC dorms and I would seriously consider them if you end up in an honors program.</p>

<p>University Towers is -extremely- loud. It is a party dorm in every sense of the word. I hung out at a friend's who lived there, and it was all sorts of loud at about 12:30AM. It seems like you're focused on schoolwork, and University Towers is... not exactly the most conducive to productivity.</p>
<p>Can I get a few more opinions about University Towers so I can make an educated decision on whether to go there or not?

<p>i live in towers now, it's not bad. a lot of frat boys and pretty girls...
it does get loud, but you can always head to the library or somewhere on the drag if you're looking for a place to study or read. the food isn't bad and the walk to campus is several blocks and then campus is huge, so you could have a good 15 minute walk or more, especially if you are heading to the far end of campus. Living anywhere, you'll find pros and cons...but in all Towers is a pretty good mix of social and academic...if you want to be academic.</p>
<p>It's a good place if you're Jewish.</p>
<p>Towers is expensive, dirty, and loud. many people enjoy living in a place like this. such people hail from new york city.</p>
