Can anyone please tell me about university village towers? I dont know if I should move there. How is the vibe? the apartments? The social life there? Please tell me what you think.

overpriced and small.

Really convenient living where you have everything you need, restaurants, shops, theaters, etc. Parking is always guaranteed, and ucr is only 10-15 min walk straight down or a 2 min drive. Social life is approachable if you just try to get to know the people around you and you can go to the theaters to pick up hoes you know??

I applied for on campus apartments in early May, but I haven’t heard back yet. Does this mean I’m gonna get dumped in UVT?

On campus apartments are nearly impossible to get in it seems. :/

As far as I know UVT isn’t part of the campus anymore but I could be wrong.
It’s not that bad of a place to live, pretty quite place and everything is within walking distance. A bunch of restaurants within 5-10 mins walking, campus is about 15-20, stater bros and kmart about 15 mins and 7-11 which is literally downstairs for those late night munchies.
Its a little expensive but the place comes with furniture and basic kitchen appliances. They do try to create events for everyone in the complex to get to know each other but not much people go to them.

i know ucr dumps people who apply for the dorms and cant get it into UVT.ucr rents some UVT rooms and then rents them to students from what i understand. not sure if they do the same for campus apartment applicants.

campus apartments are not impossible to get if you’re a returning resident from the dorms…but it’s impossible for transfers or freshmen to get. but they’re expensive anyways. the surrounding apartments are a better deal.

UVT isnt worth it. there are other apartments around that are cheaper and nearly as close if not just as close to food and campus. the only reason uvt, grand marc, and sterling (now the palms) get business is because they’re big visible buildings, and as such parents feel that it’s safer, and they’re literally right next to or right on top of food. but really, the surrounding broken up apartments (campus crossings, highlander pointe, even university village apartments) are just as good and priced much lower.

LOL that pick up hoes at the movie theater made me laugh. That theater is always dead, ucr must keep them in business by just paying to have classes there. I think university tower apartments are going for 699 right now and grandmarc is going for 750. Personally i didnt like uvt because it felt to cramped to me. x8equals is right though, if you look you can find a much better deal

I currently live at the UVT. I sign a lease without touring gran marc. Then I toured gran marc and was having my doubts about UVT. Like every else pointed out, UVT isnt the cheapest option near UCR, but it is one of the nicer ones. I LOVE my apt. I live in a 4x4 so I have my own bathroom, when I first moved it, I was like “oh crap, all my crap isnt going to fit” But then I started to rearrange the furniture and I actually love my room. Location is probably the best out of the big three (UVT, Gran marc, sterling). Amenities, Gran Marc wins hands down but UVT is nice too. Food, UVT and Sterling are neck to neck. Sterling has lots of Asian places but the location is a little sketch. If you go with UVT, try to get the 4x4. I saw my friends 3x3 and it isnt worth it. Its more expensive and more cramped.

UVT has that fancy water massaging bed though (i so wanna try that)! and tanning rooms (not that i would use those). and grandmarc still beats out uvt in amenities?

Yes, the UVT water massage bed is quite fancy, but Gran Marc is like MGM compared to excalibur UVT. Every apt at Gran Marc comes with a balcony, oversized bath rooms and bedrooms, laundry room in EACH apt unit. Volleyball court, tennis court, basketball, Olympic sized pool, theater, study rooms, office/meeting spaces and has everything UVT has.

UVT has a small pool, movie theater, massage bed, tanning dome, and not sure what else. You have to be EXTREMELY lucky to get a balcony, I was not so lucky. And the laundry room is shared. But still UVT isnt bad Its just a matter of how much more luxury do you want? You already have everything you need.
