On your Chicago account, if you open Connect and go to Mark Your Spot, you can find the number of admitted students from each region. Compiling everything was pretty tedious though.

Edit: didn’t realize that ^ had already responded.

<quote>4 AUS; 4 BAH; BIZ 1; BRA 4; CAN 5; CHN 14; CRO 1; FRA 1; GER 1; GRE 1; HK 22; ISL 1; IND 17; IRL 1; ISR 2; ITA 3; JAM 1; JPN 5; <blue>KOR 27</blue>; KUW 1; MAS 3; NCA 1; OMA 1; PAK 1; PHI 2; ROU 3; RUS 2; KSA 2; <blue>SIN 30</blue>; SUI 1; SWE 1; Taiwan 9; THA 1; TUR 11; UKR 1; UAE 8; UK 8; URU 1; VIE 2.</quote>

Too many Koreans and Singaporeans at Chicago :)

^Money talks!

I don’t think the list is accurate. For example, I’m from Canada. You said 5 people were admitted, but on my profile thing it says there are 8 of us. So…

I have 8 from Canada on my spreadsheet. I don’t know where the 5 came from. Must’ve been a typo.

How do you check other regions? it only has something for hometown

There’s a link that says From Your Hometown. There are also links pretty much right below that to every country from which there is at least one admitted student and (after clicking on United States) every state.

For those who are still confused, I have uploaded a screen capture of the site :)

After clicking “Mark Your Spot,” you are directed to this page.

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/3278/screenhc.png

Clicking on a county then gives you more information about the number of applicants admitted from that country.

so to recap… what’s the projected admit rate this year?

Just for the record, I counted 3,273 acceptances from the U.S. with an additional 213 internationals for a grand total of 3,486! Seems to match up with previous tallies, which would indicate a preliminary acceptance rate of about 18% :)

Damn. The RD acceptance rate this year is brutally low.

Whoot for being the only Icelander! :D

Brutal acceptance rate this year… :/

I’m one of the 4 from Australia :)

I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE IN ICELAND!!

and i have family in australia :)

Is this page only avaliable to those who were accepted? And if so, could anyone please tell me how many people from the US territories were accepted? And which ones? Much thanks:)

These counts can’t be accurate - we don’t know that every single person who was admitted even made a profile on their account. It doesn’t automatically make one for you… don’t you have to voluntarily ‘claim your spot’ or something like that? And if people didn’t do that, they wouldn’t show up under the different states/countries.

ZOMG FEATHERS O FOUR YAAAAAYYYYY I AM ANOTHER ONE OF THE FOUR FROM AUSTRALIA. WE ARE AWESOME WITH OUR VEGEMITE AND PAVLOVA AND STUFF… YEEEAAAH…

I remember you from yale ea threads SO HAPPY YOU GOT AN ACCEPTANCE TO CHICAGO.

haha I REMEMBER YOU TOO!!! have you made a profile? lol I might see you at UofC although I’m waiting for the other results (did you get into Yale EA btw?)

and @catherineee, I think the UC site tells you the total no. of people from a region, not just those with profiles. e.g. something along the lines of “5 people from Singapore have profiles. 24 people have not set up profiles yet.”

@Maxxwell
Hello! I was accepted from Mongolia. Funny you should mention it out of all the missing countries. Any reason behind that?

And the count might be slightly off, because, as catherineee mentioned, there might be some people (e.g. me) who have/had not set up their profiles yet, although I guess those people probably won’t impact our little statistics much.
