<p>so i got my financial aid award notice today and it says my family contribution (EFC), but when i added up the aid award and the EFC, it didn't amount to the total estimate of costs. then i saw it said "UNMEET NEED" which turned out to account for the difference. what does this mean? does the school expect my family to pay that difference as well?</p>
