Unofficial Transcript Trick

@HomeInNevada‌ Is your unofficial transcript loading? My unofficial transcript still isn’t showing. I’m a 3.54 GPA/1860 SAT and have loads of honors courses as well (all taken from community college) and I’m an Eagle scout with a bunch of community service hours that comes with that. Maybe I just didn’t get in.

@HomeInNevada‌ yea I feel you. It would suck to be rejected or wait listed after thinking that your in. Can someone confirm that it is 100% certain that you’re in if your transcript loads cause I really want to feel happy but I’m super anxious about this.

Unofficial transcript loaded for me last night. In SoCal and still haven’t gotten my letter. Dying over here. :((

@HeshSaint‌ I still haven’t even been able to open the unofficial transcript. What are your stats?

@Paradoxical1‌ mine loaded right when the first person noticed they were uploading them. So it has been up for a couple of days. I’m thinking if I got in (which I doubt), I probably got waitlisted. I’m an OOS which means I’ll have to wait awhile for my letters so that’s why I’m super curious about how accurate the unofficial transcript is.

@HomeInNevada‌ at least you have something to bank on :frowning: not being able to open the unofficial transcript makes me worried that I got rejected…

@Paradoxical1 Already posted them earlier but I’ll post em again.

@sRina97‌ , @HomeInNevada‌ , and everyone else. I found this under the admitted students section for foreign students, but its basically the same info:

Accessing Your UW Student ID
Log in to your MyUW account online at: http://myuw.uw.edu/.

From the navigation menu on the left, select “Admissions.”

Click on “Unofficial UW Transcript” in the box titled "After Being Admitted, Seattle” in the lower right corner.

Your unofficial transcript will open in a separate window and will have your 7-digit UW Student ID number at the top of the page on the left side.

Hopefully this means something if your unofficial transcripts loads and has a student id #

I’m extremely grateful! I’m just hyper curious because your overall stats are better than mine so why on earth would yours not load and mine would? It’s making me question it all more and more

@Paradoxical1‌ @nattycat66‌ but wouldn’t you still have a student ID # if you got waitlisted?

@HomeInNevada‌ Hopefully unofficial transcript is not 100% indicative of whether or not I was admitted! I’m really hoping I got in…

Me too @Paradoxical1‌ ! Please keep me updated if you hear anything!!!

@HomeInNevada‌ I haven’t been assigned an ID#!

@HomeInNevada you said you talked about how you overcame a challenge and that is why your GPA is lower. Colleges like to see that you are able to work through difficult situations because you will have MANY in life, so I think that’s what they liked

@GabiWasabi‌ do essays really mean that much to UW? I thought they highly focused on scores.

@Paradoxical1‌ have you checked under financial aid status in the right hand corner?

@HomeInNevada‌ I have :frowning: It only says my name in the upper right hand corner on the financial aid status page. My friend has his name followed by his ID number, but that’s not the case for me.

@HomeInNevada I’d say they rank like 1. GPA 2. Essays 3. Test scores. I went to a presentation by my UW admissions counselor and he said he wants the essay to tell a story about the numbers he is seeing. He was pretty relaxed about test stores, which is nice.

Yes, if your unofficial transcript loads then you’re definitely in. Note that the converse isn’t necessarily true—the transcript * not * loading isn’t always an indication of rejection or waitlist status, but…

I’m under the impression that letters are sent out by municipality (a friend of mine who lived 10 minutes away but had a different zip code received her golden envelope on Friday, whereas I didn’t get mine until Monday or Tuesday last year).

@Paradoxical1‌ maybe you will be one of the last batches to be sent out!! People had theirs load for the first time today so that might happen for you anytime now!

@GabiWasabi‌ hmm okay. That actually makes me feel a lot more solid about it then! My essay wasn’t the most fantastic thing ever but I think it explained things well enough!

@Coriander23‌ okay awesome! This has been true in years past? If your transcript doesn’t load you still might have a possibility of being waitlisted is what you are saying? But if it does load you got in no matter what?

@Paradoxical1‌ Yeah, having the unofficial transcript not load at all is extremely worrying for me. At least you have something @HomeInNevada‌ ! I’m just here in the dark regarding the transcripts.
