Unofficial Transcript Trick

@Coriander23‌ what exactly do you consider “having the numbers”? Excuse me for being so persistent but I’m getting more anxious as time goes on, haha

@Coriander23 So is ~3.7 (with like 6 AP classes and honors) and a 1780 SAT good enough to get in then? in your opinion of course

@YoonMiRae‌ lol you have a great chance, no worries!

I have never seen a stats breakdown, but the 2/3 in-state contributed proportionally to the overall 3.76 average unweighted GPA and 25-31 middle 50% ACT of the 2014 entering class. In other words, the in-state students must have solid statistics, even if their admission rate is higher. I expect the in-state students self-select to some extent based on years of accumulated admissions experience.

I have. 3.63 GPA and a 1620 SAT which I’m sure is below average…

Uwhusky1997, UW’s admissions process is holistic for good reasons, and from other posts, it is evident that you are a very good writer and have ECs demonstrating leadership and good character, and your stats are “in the ballpark,” so you never know.

And, of course, your writing ability, leadership qualities and good character will go with you wherever you enroll.

Anyone applied for Foster School of Business? I just took my WSA today. Not really feeling that great about it though :frowning:

Hey guys, I think a 3.5+ GPA would be in range, and the UW does take grades into consideration more than it does standardized test scores. On last year’s thread there were a lot of people with 1600-1800 SAT’s who were accepted, so don’t lose hope. And for what it’s worth, I believe you definitely have a shot.

At the end of the day, whatever your decision letter says does not take away from all that you’ve accomplished in high school–remember that!

Yeah I’m an Instate student, I just want to meet Harry the Husky!!

I have a 3.57 UW GPA, and a 4.33 W GPA. My SAT is 1870, but I gave it four times because I’m an idiot and I suck XD
Also I’m American studying in a British patterned school in Bangladesh. I’m freshman, not international.

Did you know the school mascot, is actually an Alaskan Malamute?

Hey Everyone! I actually was at UW today for housing tours, financial aid/Admission presentations, & campus tour. Admissions told me that ALL letters were sent out today!! Since March 15th is a Sunday. I was told that 6400 students will be the amount of students as this years freshman cohort. This is the most competitive applicant pool in UW History as well. There was 36,528 applicants. 2/3 of slots will be given to state residents. The other 1/3 is for non-residents, transfer, & international. I’m sure it’s been the toughest decision for UW admission committee in history. Lets not freak out though! We should all receive letters within the week of March 16- March 21 (:

PS: If the envelope is a metallic gold color then that’s a good sign.

If it’s white, still don’t freak out… you might be wait listed.

Did you mean about 6400 applicants accepted total or am I mistaken? @pchristian90‌

That sounds like a lot less accepted students compared to all previous years… Thats not even close to their normal 50% acceptance rate. What the hell is happening…

Yeah that’s about a 20% acceptance rate. That sounds waaaaay abnormal…

I heard they were getting a lot more applicants this year, but the increase in applicants is not drastic enough to change the acceptance rate is such a rate… I’m thinking @pchristian90 meant 16400.

Maybe it means that’s how many freshman they expect to actually enroll after admission?

Oh yeah. That makes sense. I’d rather know the estimated number for accepted students though XD
Damn. That number is scaring me like crazy.

Me too, I was feeling better until I did the math based off of that post and now I’m scared again, lol

Hahah. I’m fairly certain UW Seattle wouldn’t drop their acceptance rate from an average of 50% to around 20%. That would cause a lot of controversy for the Uni. But you never know. Uni’s have done crazier stuff

I’m still clinging on to the fact that my UW account shows links for seattle although I’ve been told it shows the same thing for everyone. Haha, at this point any glimpse of hope means a lot
