Wow that’s actually very reassuring knowing we have a set decision date. Likely will be traveling to club sport sectionals that day so ahhhh this is a lot
I know its so intense, but just try to enjoy each day until then and try not to worry. That’s basically the challenge until the 15th.
Does anyone know anything about transfer housing? Do they group transfers together? Will there be housing left for us “if” we get accepted? Do you all plan on living in a dorm or off campus?
Yes there is housing for transfers. It is very nicely set up with having them all together, and the rooms are nice.
@ftrsimmons
That is good to hear @jj0996. Can you tell me more?
Found this interesting statistic on the list of graduates and their majors last year and wanted to share…kinda interesting to see what majors had the most graduates.

Just confirming that OOS vs in-state doesn’t factor in to transfer decisions right?
@mlanyi4 according to this thread it does not.
Ram village 5 is a transfer on campus apartment housing. They have the transfer united living learning community. Thats where I am planning to live, hopefully next semester.
@mlanyi4
I sure hope so!
I’ve been trying to establish my in state residency status and have had a lengthy correspondence with UNC over this. I have an email from an assistant director of under grad admissions explicitly saying residency is not considered in transfer admissions.
I just called up to Chapel Hill to check on what other have been posting. According to the advisor I spoke to we will all have our decision BY next Friday (4/15/16). Next week is likely with Friday being the latest possible day. I hope everyone is excited!
I just checked my common app and it says that my recommendations haven’t even been started. Given that decisions will be out next week, I know that it’s too late. How much do recommendation letters weigh into the admissions process? I can’t believe that my recommenders didn’t even start them. I’m in such shock and I’m freaking out.
@hopefulapp43 Recommendations aren’t required for transfer students, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
@ftrsimmons okay that’s a relief, thank you!
Has anyone been able to verify if they do in fact cover 100% tuition for those in need? Check out link below for info I understand that stat is including loans etc…I’m OOS and independent. Affording tuition without aid is not an option. I feel my chances are good for acceptance. But, if I can’t get the funds through UNC I’d have to decline. That would be BEYOND devastating…
